Enlightened Despot

This event was held at the wonderful dover estate which is like a modern day castle. Lickinghole was time releasing 3 different casks of the new Russian imperial stout named enlightened despot. Vanilla, Chocolate, and Coffee. It was from 1 to 8 and we showed up at 6 just in time for them to break open the coffee cask. We got 2 cups of that which was fantastic as we just walked and toured this awesome place. We ended up at a really fancy bar where they were pouring magic beaver and three chopt triple. I saw a bottle on display and it was full of the coveted Enlightened Despot. Then I saw it disappear and I alerted the bar tender and she got on the radio stating that someone ran off with a bottle. The bottle was quickly retrieved and for my reward we opened that bad boy and I really really felt Enlightened...

So this stuff is hard to get. But can be found at local rva drinking holes. When it comes to the Bourbon Barrel aged goodness, now that is another story. There's that incident of the faulty clamp that dumped half of their batch on the floor (I would have lapped it up like a cat). So they stayed true to the game and charged regular price and 2 bottle minimum. I saw it on the news and knew it would be a mad house and steered clear. Miraculously someone showed up to a Christmas party with a fresh bottle, bam got sum. Then went to mekong for lunch after the gym and bam they still had both on tap so good so fresh. And the food and staff are the best!!!
